Being an avid fan of the great Olympic champion and fastest woman in the world, Flojo (Florence Griffeth Joyner), I wanted flojo.com to be the name of my web site. My second choice was crofoot.com, my nickname in high school, too late both were taken. How about crojo.com; all right! Okay, I am now crojo. Crojo believes that he knows the Flojo secret to athletic success. It is not drugs! Tests have verified this in her case. This secret can be applied to most sports. Crojo discovered the secret while running the quarter mile event in high school. This secret enabled him to win a special all round best athlete award and a scholarship to a university that does not give athletic scholarships. Note that crojo was only an average student.
Crojo was not a big guy. Age twelve he was refused a local paper route because he was too small. He then went door to door and built his own route promising New York daily delivery before seven. Even his sister two years younger was bigger. Whatever crojo did he gave it everything he had. That was good, but not that good. The left picture below shows the finish of a quarter mile event with crojo number eleven giving it all he had. The picture reveals face distorted veins and muscles bulging. Again good, but not that good. One week later, again the quarter. Going into the first turn crojo is bumped and jostled right off the cinder track into the infield. As he stood there watching the group go by he thought what's the use might as well walk back...no that might reflect badly on the school...might as well run on in. The picture on the right shows what happened. Crojo caught up flew past and posted a time two seconds faster than his best previous. From that day on, every finish looked the same. Winning going away. The secret was to know how and when to RELAX. Get to know your body. One technique is to tense selected parts for ten or more seconds then relax to teach your brain recognition. How often does a person realize a clenched hand , fist or jaw. The interviews I saw when Flojo was asked about performance, she said get a good start, stay relaxed and finish ahead. It certainly worked for her, it worked for me. It is worth a try. Good Luck. |
